Boudoir photography - Q&A's

Boudoir photography is a very intimate thing and I am more than happy to talk you through anything in more detail and answer any of your questions. Here are some of the most common questions I’m asked…..if there’s anything I haven’t answered feel free to drop me a line or call me.

Who will be at the boudoir shoot?
I am the only boudoir photographer so me…..and you! If you’ve chosen to be fully pampered the hair stylist and make-up artist will also be there working their magic but will leave before we start. You will also see the hotel reception staff too but they are very welcoming, very discreet and very used to my boudoir sessions! The hotel is rural, quiet and I often don’t see any guests the whole time I’m there!

What should I bring to my boudoir shoot?
It’s totally up to you. Remember, even the simplest items can be the sexist – one client had her husband’s shirt and a pair of lacy knickers. ….it was what made her feel most sexy. Bring along lingerie that makes you feel at your best - anything that makes you feel good will help you relax, be more confident and produce the sexiest images.

When you book I provide you with a complimentary ‘Boudoir Photography’ guide packed with information about what to expect and gives you more suggestions.

Can I have a drink to calm my nerves?
Of course…..my boudoir shoots are all about you, you, you! And a small amount of alcohol may help calm your nerves. I bring along a bottle of bubbly but feel free to bring your favorite tipple if you’d like

If you think you would like a drink just let me know and I can arrange a free transfer from the nearest train station to the hotel.

I'm really nervous.....can I bring a friend along to the boudoir shoot for support?
Of course, but remember it’s a female only environment so no partners allowed! A lot of people find it really helps to have a friend there and don’t forget you can always ask them to leave the room if you feel uncomfortable at any point.. If you’re going to bring someone, just let me know beforehand.

I'm not sure I feel comfortable taking ALL my clothes off?!
That’s fine, you decide how much you want to bare or not. Most people find they start the session not wanting to take their jeans off and finish not wanting to put them back on!

It is entirely up to you what you wear or don’t wear but whatever level you feel comfortable with, my experience means I can still capture sexy and most of all flattering pictures of you

Can you hide my lumpy, bumpy bits?
Yes of course…..don’t panic, being female I understand lumpy, bumpy bits….I have enough myself! At the consultation we discuss the bits of your body you love and hate and anything you’d rather hide and I always produce images that flatter you. Using a variety of angles poses & lighting can show off your best features regardless of your body shape.

I offer the ultimate boudoir photography service which includes full retouching free of charge so getting rid of any blemishes, spots and the odd stretch mark is not a problem!

Will anyone else see my boudoir photographs?
No, definitely not. Once the photographs have been taken and edited, you will be invited to the studio for a private viewing. Once this is done and you have decided how you want the photographs to be presented the finished products and your complimentary lo-res CD are deliver to you ‘for your eyes only’. Who you decide to share them with then is your business!

How will my boudoir phogtographs be presented?
Again that’s entirely up to you. My service is totally flexible enabling you to have your photographs presented exactly how you would like them. I offer a whole range of presentation options; card mounted prints, framed prints, canvases, individually designed albums, boxed photographs, calendars….the list is endless!

We will obviously run through all the options at the consultation and then once you have seen all the photographs at your private viewing can finalise your choices

Can I have my all my photographs on disk?
As part of my boudoir photography service you will receive a lo-resolution CD of all the photographs taken at your boudoir session which is yours to keep. You can upgrade this to a hi-res DVD which will allow you to print any photographs as many times as you like.

What is the cost of a boudoir photo shoot?
