Sarah & Jason's pre-wedding shoot

At the start of every year I have mixed emotions. I get really excited as it’s the start of a New Year and that always brings inspiration and change, but on the other hand I am concerned as I think the coming year could never be quite as good as the last one. I worry I won’t be as good a photographer as last year, I worry that my bride & grooms won’t love the photographs as much, that the weddings won’t be quite as much fun and that my bride & grooms won’t be as lovely. Silly I know, especially as I have met (& loved them all) already!

BUT….I can safely say that every year is as good as the last. And this year is no exception as I finally get to photograph Sarah & Jason’s wedding in May. Sarah & Jason officially win the title of ‘The couple that booked me the longest in advance’ and I really feel like I have gained two new friends. Over the last three years Sarah has been an avid blog-follower and frequently posts comments and sends emails to keep me up to date with all their wedding plans. I’ve followed all the excitement from booking make-up artists and hairdressers to the search for the perfect wedding dress and the most fabulous shoes a bride can buy…..oh and a last-minute change of date / venue and back again!

This weekend, after seeing everyone elses photographs, Sarah and Jason had the excitement of their own pre-wedding shoot. They chose the beautiful Pitville Pump Rooms as the location for their engagement shoot and it was gorgeous. It was so great to see them again and we spent the whole afternoon and early evening chatting, planning and generally whipping ourselves up into a frenzy of excitement….oh and we took a few pre-wedding photographs too!

Sarah & Jason – it’s been a long journey and a total pleasure every step of the way. I can’t wait for your big day in May and when it’s over I will miss you so much…..but I just know you will keep in touch!

I had real trouble in choosing one photograph for their initial ’sneaky peak’ but I just love the intimacy and natural look of this image……

After the pre-wedding shoot was over we treated ourselves to afternoon tea…..how fabulous is this!!?

Four legged friends.....

Last week I had two big and very unusual photographic ’subjects’ in the studio. Two gorgeous German Shepherd dogs!

When George rang she explained that she wanted a family portrait of her and her brothers and sisters for Mothers Day it seemed nothing unusual. But then she went on to explain that she also wanted a portrait of her and her ‘babies’. And that the babies she wanted photographing were of the four legged kind!

Now, I’m not afraid of dogs at all but as anyone whose visited a portrait studio knows, there is a lot of delicate equipment around and dogs like that have very big, waggy tails!! But I didn’t have worried one little bit as these two were some of the most well behaved babies I think I’ve ever photographed!

George & Matt – it was such a pleasure to photograph your family and I can’t wait to see the canvas of you all!!

Now i can totally see why you were making those excited noises when doing your advanced flash stuff! Those pictures are just stunning!

I will have to wait till the wife gets home from work to have a proper natter about them but if we ever needed proof that you were the right lady for the day… this is it!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! xxx

Rich – you have such a way with words. Thank you for such lovely feedback….you made my Saturday.
