I fed a giraffe.....!

I went to bed last night on cloud nine. Not only had I photographed a beautiful wedding, for a lovely bride and groom, at a gorgeous wedding venue but…..I fed a giraffe!! I will post some more photographs soon but I just wanted to pop a couple of these up for Emma & James to see.

As part of their wedding ‘package’ they got to spend some time with an animal of their choice. So….after their ceremony, the three of us headed off with the giraffe’s keeper to a private enclosure where we were able to get ‘up close and personal’ with these elegant creatures. I never knew how much giraffe’s like banana’s!! After lots and lots of photographs Emma & James even let me have a go at feeding them myself…..how excited was I?!

Emma & James – thank you so much for not only letting me share your special day and being such a lovely couple but giving me such an unforgettable experience. Keeping checking back for more images from your big day soon.

Off on my travels again.....

Some days I really can’t believe how lucky I am to be doing this job. I get to meet some lovely people, play a key part in one of the biggest days of peoples lives and travel to some amazing parts of our beautiful country. Yesterday, on a gorgeous sunny September afternoon I packed up the car and headed across the Salisbury Plains to Hampshire.

Today I am lucky enough to be photographing Emma & James’s wedding at the stunning Marwell House at Marwell Zoo and I really can’t wait. Emma was a bridesmaid for Kate & Dean who were the first ever couple whose wedding I ‘officially’ photographed. It was at Thornbury Castle and I was sooo new and sooo nervous. I can’t believe that after all this time Emma not only remembered me and asked me to photograph their wedding but that I’m still persuing my dream.

It’s going to be a great day as not only, after months of talking about their wedding plans, I will see Emma & James get married but there will also be another 3 couples there whose weddings I have photographed over the last few years too…..a proper catch up!

I also took the opportunity, while I was here to meet up with Debs whose Buddhist wedding I am photographing in October. Photographing a Buddhist wedding will be a first for me so I was keen to find out exactly what will happen and the traditions involved. We met over a glass of wine and dinner overlooking the lake in Eastleigh, Hampshire and she told me all about their beliefs and the plan for their wedding….sounds very exciting.

And tonight, when I’m done here, I’m dashing back to Taunton as tomorrow I’m photographing Kui & Simon’s wedding in Dunster! A busy but perfect weekend!

And because life is so much better with pictures…..here are a couple of photographs from Emma & James’s pre-wedding shoot.

Bryonie’s portrait….

Having slept for a full 10 hours last night, I’m back and fighting fit!!

When I met with Bryonie yesterday she told me that her friends at school didn’t believe that she was having her own portrait ‘photoshoot’ today and I promised that I woud get some on the blog today so that she could show them all!!

Bryonie….you were a fantastic model and have the most beautiful smile. Hope you and Mummy and Daddy love the photographs!

Love,
